All boarding schools have a staffed admissions office eager to introduce you to their school. We will send you information about our schools and invite you to tour our campuses. Some schools might even invite a prospective student to spend a night in the dorm to experience boarding school life. Details of the application process are listed below (the process at each school may vary).

1. Call or e-mail several schools and ask for application materials.

2. Complete and submit your applications early. Most schools accept new students for the fall term between December and July. Applications are somtimes accepted during the school year around if there are openings.

3. Call the schools to schedule a tour. You can expect an interview when you visit.

4. Sign up for admission testing. Most secondary schools accept the SSAT or ISEE tests offered nationwide. Some schools require their own admissions test.

5. School records and Teacher Recommendations will need to be submitted. Your current school will need you to authorize them to send the records directly to the schools to which you are applying.

6. Financial aid information or applications can usually be obtained by calling the admissions office.

7. Some schools notify applicants of acceptance in the spring, while others review applications for admission throughout the year, and notify prospective students shortly after the application is submitted. If you have been accepted to more than one school, it is important for you to inform all the schools to which you applied of your decision as soon as possible. This may allow a "wait listed" student a chance for enrollment.

8. Paying your tuition deposit on time will reserve your place.

What Do Schools Look For? "A Good Match"

All schools are looking for students who show promise of being a good match for their specific programs. Admissions Committees ask themselves, "Will this student find academic success and benefit from being here and will this school community benefit from this student joining us?" We call this a "good match." Apply to several schools to find your best match. Great opportunities await you! Best wishes for an experience that will last a lifetime.
