Founded by Catholic families in 1963 on a strikingly beautiful rural campus of rolling hills and a quiet lake, La Lumiere School provides a rigorous college-preparatory education for young men and women from a rich diversity of backgrounds. Faculty and students work cooperatively in a warm, caring, and structured atmosphere to develop the skills necessary for a lifelong pursuit of character, scholarship and faith. A traditional college-prep curriculum, advanced placement courses, supervised study, tutorial support and required athletics ensure appropriate learning and growth for capable and motivated students. The 155-acre campus is located in northwest Indiana 60 miles east of Chicago. Easily accessible public transportation (rail and bus) from that city's terminals brings students to school from 6 states and 4 countries.
