Located on 800 acres in the mountain lakes region of northern Alabama, St. Bernard Prep School is a coeducational, college preparatory school sponsored by the Benedictine monks of St. Bernard Abbey.  Our focus is to teach high school students how to excel in higher education.  Small classroom sizes and dedicated teachers allow students to build a solid foundation for their future.  St. Bernard students annually score substantially higher on ACT and SAT college entrance tests.  Graduating classes averaging 30 students typically receive at least $2 million in scholarship offers.  Boarding students attend St. Bernard from all over the Unites States.  International students from Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe also choose St. Bernard.  The dormitory environment provides students a secure, structured independence.  Students take part in a supervised nightly study hall during the week to assist them in their academics.  For 7-day boarders off-campus activities are provided to enliven the weekend experience.  St. Bernard offers a full athletic program for both boys and girls.  Athletic facilities include:  athletic gymnasium with 2 weight rooms, tennis courts, softball field, Olympic soccer field, football field and baseball field.
